Things to do in Monchique, Algarve
There are many different things to do in Monchique and it is so different from the coastal Algarve. Monchique is a lovely town to explore with lots of narrow, cobbled streets criss-crossing the hillside and shops and cafés dotted around. There are shops selling ceramics and craft work and when you want a break - pastelarias with a wonderful selection of freshly made cakes and pastries (often using the local honey).
Monchique is also a very popular area for mountain biking and long walks. Follow the signs in town and visit the ruins of the convent which overlooks Monchique- the walk up the hill is worth it for the views. Drive up to Foia, the highest point in the Algarve (and the coldest!), there are some restaurants along the route with (once again) fabulous views of the Monchique hills. Don't forget to visit Caldas de Monchique with it's thermal spa and wonderful, peaceful, gardens.
Here you will find lots of information about things to do in Monchique! Information about places of interest to visit, churches, galleries, museums, historical remains and leisure activities in and around Monchique.
